The 70 Mile Tourist Trial Ride takes place this Sunday, 2nd July. I’d post more information but the council events diary doesn’t have any. I’ll swing by the notice board outside Burtons on the way home and have a look…
Anyone done it before? I’d like to have an idea of the route before I set off.
Anyone doing it this year?
“Sunday 2nd July – 70 mile tourist trial
Take part in one of Darlington’s famous tourist trial rides register at the market square between 8:30 – 9:30am”
From a pdf leaflet I found on the Local Motion website.
Got a reply from the COuncil:
“You can start the ride any time between 8.30am and 9.30am – you should
register in the Dolphin Centre and check in at the Dog and Gun in Potto half way round.
The route is (very roughly) south east out of Darlington, taking in
Osmotherley and Sheep Wash.”
An update from last weekend.
I arrived at the Market Place five minutes before the registration period closed. There was no-one there. Brilliant.
So, I went for a ride on my own instead: Darlington to Barnard Castle to Hamsterley Forest to Darlington. See my personal blog for details
